Now, when you turn long and/or slender workpieces, LMC Workholding — Atling Steady Rests support the workpiece where you need it most — to give you closer tolerances, greater turning accuracy and repeatability.
Steady rests are an essential accessory for turning machines during the manufacture of slim shaft type workpieces, which under the influence of cutting loads become unstable with a liability to bend or deflect. Without the use of steady rests the physical properties are not maintained and problems of concentricity and surface finish (chatter) become apparent.
LMC Workholding/Atling steady rests are self-centering and are available in a wide range of sizes to meet your precise needs. Standard models offer gripping diameters from .118" to 19.7". Special application models and gripping diameters of up to 40" and larger are available. LMC has worldwide sales and service for all your workholding needs.

far superior performance of uniform clamping force throughout the clamping range of
each steady. The patented angular lever design varies only 7% in grip force over the
complete gripping range versus 37% variation for competitive models. This unique
