Neidlein face drivers turn a workpiece in one operation.

Face drivers and chucks from LMC Workholding grip and turn a workpiece from its end.

A face driver is a center pin surrounded by chisel-point drive pins to center grip and turn a workpiece from its end for full length, one operation machining.

Eliminates costly, time-consuming workpiece reversing from end to end to machine the full O.D. with conventional workholding.

Neidlein Face Drivers allow you to machine the entire O.D. of the workpiece in one operation.

From the inventors of the mechanical face driver...Neidlein face drivers (from LMC Workholding) quickly grip and turn a workpiece from its end, allowing the operator to turn, grind, mill or hard-turn the entire O.D. of the workpiece in one operation. Quick-change center points and drive pins. Your bottom line is increased productivity, quality and cost efficiency. See our article titled "Face Driving Applications: Dispelling the “Limited Applications” Myths".

  • Save time repositioning workpieces
  • Machine the full length of a turning in one operation
  • Reduce cost and improve productivity with lower maintenance
    and higher quality
  • Eliminate changeovers, setups and extra operations
  • Beats competitive face drivers with consistent axial positioning,
longer drive pin life, reduced cutting tool wear, heavier cutting capacity
    and quick changeover
  • Special applications, hard turning, grinding, HEAVY cuts - let us prove it!

Two Types of Standard Neidlein Face Drivers

  • Tapered Shank Model Face Driver (Type SB)
For a machine dedicated to an application with few changeovers, mount directly to spindle with tapered hole. Where frequent face driver changes are expected, use chuck with bored-out soft top jaws to grip O.D. of the driver.

  • Flange Mount Face Driver (Type FSB)
Use a Flange Type face driver for a dedicated machine by mounting with adapter to spindle. For frequent changes if you do not want to grip the driver, use a Flange Type driver with chuck mount.

For a dedicated machine with a tapered hole through or in the spindle, choose a tapered shank (SB) driver mounted directly to the spindle.
For a dedicated machine with a tapered pilot in the spindle, choose a flange-mount (FSB) driver with a standard mounting adapter (see below)

If there will be frequent driver changes on your machine and you prefer to grip the OD of the driver, choose a tapered shank (SB) model and use a chuck with bored-out soft top jaws.
If there will be frequent driver changes on your machine and you prefer to mount the driver rather than have it gripped, choose a flange-mount (FSB) model and use a chuck with a standard mounting adapter.
