LMC Workholding / Richter Manual Steady Rests...
C-Form Steady Rest (Type 5)
The C-form steady rest has a complex structure and is mostly used with several fitting members one after the other. Thus, very long and thin shafts can be processed, since they are well-protected against bending. C-form steady rests are designed for loads up to the two-digit ton range. The support can run along on a second slide bed. This type of rest combines the features of a travelling rest and a stationary rest.
This steady is fitted as well with the protected electronic measuring device. The steady can identify the center of its machine and the sleeves can be preset on the basis of the workpiece diameter. This idea, which is patented, was devised by the master toolmaker, Harry Richter and then developed for application by Richter Vorrichtungsbau.
